Australian FiM DVD sets

The first two volumes of a five-volume My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic DVD set are up for pre-order on Madman, and will be released in June. Volume one is titled 'Friendship Changes Everything' and volume two is called 'That's What Friends Are For.' The friendship theme is as strong as always.

Also listed are two "Target exclusive" versions, though it does not mention what the differences are--if any--and the Target exclusives currently do not have covers. Each volume contains five episodes.

But what is most exciting of all for us collectors is the volume one collector's box (pictured above) which is said to contain an "exclusive gift." What could it be!?

It does not list which episodes will be on each DVD, so I can't say if they will be in chronological order or not, but I have my fingers crossed for a full season set! If they continue with five episodes per DVD, they will be shy one episode, but maybe they'll tack an extra one onto the last disc.

News on the 2012 Comic-Con pony

What is it going to look like? Are they going to continue with the G3 style or give it a Friendship is Magic look? Will it wind up being the Fashion Style Derpy after all?

All these questions and more... have yet to be answered. But we do know this:

BIG news, pony fans! We’re giving you the chance to design your own pony - and it could be made into a real figure that will be revealed at this year’s Comic-Con International! Check back soon to get in on the action!

Hasbro announced this on their My Little Pony Facebook page. Exciting! The 2012 Comic-Con pony is well on its way.

It's more likely than you think!

Io9, website full of geek, nerd, and other awesome news has recently gotten a sneak peek at the upcoming wedding episode. In case you forgot or have recently come out of coma, which is likely the only way you'd forget, the wedding episode premiers this Saturday, it's a two parter, a whole hour of ponies, and weddings, and inevitable songs! Oh boy!

In other small news not worth it's own post, Sibsy has posted some more work of her original character, based on herself, on her DeviantArt.

I feel guilty saying that doesn't deserve it's own post, because the animator behind the nickname Sibsy (Sabrina Alberghetti) is a pretty awesome person. Either way, enjoy her arts!

Princess Celestia & Friends Teatime

A new Toys R Us exclusive playset titled "Princess Celestia & Friends Teatime". Nothing new in terms of ponies--Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and brushable Princess Celestia have all been seen before. The white box is a new touch, however!

Okay, wedding, I know. You know, we all know.

Yeah yeah, another wedding update. This time it's about the big ol' actual party that The Hub is hosting for the make believe wedding party.



Ooh, ahh, prettiful! The Hub is letting us know via their facebook page that the wedding is in fact, happening, 'cause they've been so quiet about till now. They're having an actual event to celebrate the wedding, and the season finale.

Tara Strong, the voice of Twilight Sparkle even showed up to the real life wedding gala!



She looks, as Nigel Thornberry would say, smashing.

I don't know what Sweetie Belle is plotting, but, soon...

Fashion Style Derpy not so official after all.

Looks like many pony fans--myself included--jumped the gun on the Fashion Style Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo found on Taobao. Sethisto of Equestria Daily contacted Hasbro representatives and asked whether or not this was a future toy, to which they responded that it is not a Hasbro product. Bummer! Still, it's a fantastic looking knock-off, if you ask me.

Okay, I'm going to talk about the pony wedding some more.

I think that, by now, everyone knows about it. No one who reads this site has forgotten about it, but the Hub keeps letting us know about it, and you know what? I'm totally okay with that, 'cause they're letting us know about it in awesome ways.

If you're in the bizzzzzzzzzz (as the cool kids say), you might have gotten one of these totally awesome promo screeners of the new episode.



When I saw this I promptly spazzed out over how awesome it is, and decided I want one, badly.

In other wedding news, the Hub is putting an advert in the wedding second of the New York Times! How awesome is that? You can have a peak at the advert below.



I could say this is getting out of hand, but it's not. There can never be too much pony. The wedding finale airs on April 21st, though I'm sure you know that. I'm excited! Ponies, dresses, inevitable songs! I'm sure it's going to be awesome.

Apparently there's some sort of pony wedding going on?

The Hub is not being shy about there being a pony wedding coming up on the 21st, one could say they're marketing the heck out of it. What with the billboard showing up;



The Royal Wedding Website, which has a few pretty cool games (all of which are now unlocked), and a totally awesome party pack complete with wedding invitations.



And games, like Pin the Bouquet on Rarity;



The party pack has several other goodies, all of which are in PDF format, so you can print them out as big as you like! On the Royal Wedding page, click 'download the party pack' on the bottom right hand side.

And, there's a new promo ad!



There's also the Princess Cadence and Shining Armor playset, along with a styling Princess Cadence.

In case you forgot, Hub, and us at My Little Pony news are reminding you, there's a pony wedding coming up. It's going to be on TV, on April 21st, and there are going to be toys. I'm excited about! All those ponies, fancy dresses, a new princess, toys! It's going to be awesome.

I always have a lot good (great) things to say about the voice over talent working on FiM, and in any animation, or videogame. Voice over talents are hugely under appreciated. They work, constantly, and in a lot of ways what they do is more complicated and challenging than acting in front of a camera. The doc is titled 'I Know That Voice!', and the teaser launched yesterday. You can watch it here;

German FiM DVDs and story soundtracks

Late news on my part. Sorry!

These DVDs are available for purchase on amazon.de. Each DVD contains three episodes (in German, of course), and they also happen to be the first six episodes of season one. Hope for a full season DVD set? According to this thread on MLP Arena, the DVDs are region-free, so they should work on any DVD player.

The first DVD is available here, and the second is available here.

Next up are some interesting CDs--they each contain four chapters to a story. The first is titled "Ein Auftrag von Prinzessin Celestia" and the second is "Apfelchüttelernte." If my high school German class has done me any good, the first title translates to "An Order of Princess Celestia". The second would appear to be a story retelling of the episode "Applebuck Season" (Episode 4, Season 1). You can listen to a clip of each chapter.

Charity Auction - Lauren Faust pony sketches!

Lauren Faust has donated some sketches to a charity auction benefiting fellow animator Joey Adams and his family whose son is very ill. You can read more about the Adams' here.

The auctions will be hosted on eBay and will go live on Friday April 6, 2012 and end on Sunday, April 8, 2012. They will be listed here.

Lauren has drawn two sketches especially for the auction--G1 pegasus favorites Firefly and Medley!

Three original Friendship is Magic revision sketches from 2010 will also be auctioned.

New webpages from Hub and Hasbro. Wedding themed games, and another Ep.24 clip!

First up is a page to promote the royal wedding, the page is super cute. It has games featuring the Mane Six, some of which have been previously featured on Hub's website. You can play the games here. It also has a wedding party pack you can download, which has high-res wallpapers, printable hats, a wedding invite, and a couple games you can print out (pin the bouquet on Rarity). The hats, invite and games are in PDF format, so you can scale them up as big as you like and print 'em out! They're also line art, so you can colour them, too! That is pretty awesome. They're obviously trying to encourage people to have their own season finale parties! If I were 20 years younger and had matching Chromosomes, I would be all over this kind of party.



The other game is a series of puzzles, solve them and you get a two minute peak at the season finale! You can find that one here.

Oh boy, the wedding is soon! I'm definitely excited about it. I'm hoping to see lots of ponies in lots of different outfits. It should be awesome.

While this may seem like some sort of April Fools joke, I can assure you it's not, season one of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has made it's way to Netflix! Exclamatory reactions! Huzzah, hooray, etcetera.

The bad news! I am woefully sorry to inform our Canadian readers, but season one of FiM has yet to make it to Netflix in Canada. When it does, you can read about it here.
