Derpy/Ditzy is the official 2012 Comic-Con pony!

It’s officially official now, folks. USA Today released an article on her today, including “never before seen pictures” (ha!) of the figure.

Some more information on her availability:

The pony will sell for $19.99 at San Diego Comic-Con and this year's My Little Pony Fair and Convention, slated for July 7-8 in Orlando. If you're not going to either event, note that a limited number will be available at www.hasbrotoyshop.com after both conventions.

No official name was given in the article, so this toy is technically nameless as of right now, but you can call her by whatever name you wish!

More news on Fashion Style Derpy

Looks like we spoke too soon once again! Despite Hasbro claiming that this was not an official product, new images of Fashion Style Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo have surfaced on Taobao, this time complete with packaging.

Assuming this is the real deal, then fan speculation that she is a special edition Comic-Con pony seems to be correct. It looks like this is as good as we're going to get until San Diego Comic-Con begins. If confirmed, Derpy will be the very first G4-style Comic-Con pony!

FYI, Comic-Con starts on July 12, 2012 and runs until July 15. There is still the fan designed Comic-Con pony to look forward to as well.

Pony Rainbow Collection + Translucent Fluttershy

A new Target exclusive set title 'Pony Rainbow Collection' has been found. It consists of glittery blind bag versions of the mane six, plus a green boy pony named Emerald Ray.

If you haven't noticed, several of the new Target exclusive sets we have posted about have a mark that reads 'Crystal Empire' with a picture of Princess Cadance, and much of this merchandise is, well, sparkly! This seems to be a promotion separate from the Canterlot Wedding, but I am not sure when it will be released.

This translucent Fluttershy was also found, and fans are guessing that she will be a part of this promotion as well.

Packaging for special edition wave of blind bags

Packaging for the special edition wave, or "glitter wave" of blind bag ponies. They have their own unique, and dare I say, dazzling bags. Naturally, Rarity takes center stage in this set.

Double-packs coming to Target and Toys R Us

The two newest Glimmer Wings (Sweet Song and Diamond Rose) have been found boxed on Taobao. They will be in a double-pack with tinsel-haired Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, respectively, and are Target exclusives. From the looks of it, they will be a part of the wedding promotion.

Toys R Us has their own exclusive double-pack on the way: Riding Along with Rarity and Daisy Dreams! Or in this case, Pony Scooter Friends.

Regular Daisy Dreams was previously believed to be an international exclusive, but it seems that she may have a release state-side after all. There is also a Glimmer Wings Daisy Dreams on the way.

All of these were found on MLP Arena, via Taobao.

Glimmer Wings Sweetsong

Another Glimmer Wings pony found on Taobao. As usual, the release date is unknown. My guess is that these new GW's will be showing up in the fall with the other new ponies.

SoSilver over at MLP Arena received this cute set from Hasbro as a gift!

Cadance is the same mold as Fashion Style Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. The set will be a Target exclusive.

Can't wait until  the wedding promotion finally begins!

My Little Pony Miniature Collection

Looks like the figures we posted about yesterday are indeed legit! Hasbro uploaded three photos to their MLP Facebook page in an album titled "My Little Pony Miniature Collection", and it appears that they will be released in sets accompanied by previously released blind bag figures.

New blind bags (?) found on eBay - Gilda, Granny Smith, Wonderbolts, + more

StarDragon at MLP Arena found these figures on eBay. They come from a seller in China who is describing them as Hasbro products, and appear to be small and fully sculpted, suggesting they are similar to blind bag figures. They may also be bootlegs or knock-offs.

I will not be adding these to the G4 Checklist until more information is uncovered, but it's pretty cool all the same. Even if they do wind up being fakies, they look pretty great and would be a nice addition to any collection.

New Playful Ponies found on Kmart's website

Four new Playful Ponies were found on Kmart's website for $6.99 each. They come with wedding-themed accessories and a DVD featuring the episode "Lesson Zero."

Sources claim that ordering from Kmart's website is not recommended as they will not mail you the pony pictured, replacing it with a different G4 pony. This is likely a case of Kmart listing new products too early. Similar instances have happened in the past with unreleased pony playsets, so no surprises there. Still, it's nice to see these toys boxed and ready to go!

Another interesting note: notice the box art? No recolored mane six vectors here! Hasbro is really stepping it up for their Canterlot wedding promo.

My Little Pony Project Previews

The My Little Pony Project opens tomorrow, May 5, 2012, and over 30 artists have been announced as participating. According to the hosting Toy Art Gallery,

"The customized ponies will be available for sale during the run of the exhibition, ending May 26, 2012. Ten percent of the sales from the MY LITTLE PONY one-of-a-kind ponies will be donated to Give Kids The World. Music at the launch party will be provided by Dim Mak. Beginning the week of May 1, artists COPE2, Buff Monster, Indie184, and others will paint pony-inspired murals at Melrose boutiques De La Barracuda and Joyrich.

All artwork will be sold first come, first served at the opening and will be available online at shop.toyartgallery.com Saturday night!"

Opening night is being promoted as My Little Pony Night Out. Retailer Munky King has announced that they will be "giving out a super limited edition ‘DIY’ My Little Pony" at the event.

Friendship Celebration Collection

Looks like another Toys R Us-exclusive set of re-releases has been leaked. This time we have the "Friendship Celebration Collection" featuring blind bag ponies from waves one and two. Included are (from left to right): Sweetie Swirl, Firecracker Burst, Sugar Grape, Sweetcream Scoops, Lily Blossom, Bumblesweet, Rainbow Flash, Sweetie Blue, Lemon Hearts, Pepperdance, Blossomforth and Flower Wishes. Not a bad set if you're not one for hunting down blind bags.

A book titled 'A Wedding in Canterlot' is up for pre-order on Amazon. The release date is currently set for August 14, 2012, and the pre-order price is $9.99. Amazon describes it as a 10-page board book, and it also comes with a bonus bracelet.
