Galleycat reported on the upcoming line of MLP books, including some titles and prices! We will be seeing an official guide and the start of a chapter book series as well as the introduction of a new city--Aquastria! You can read the original article here or below:

Little Brown Books for Readers just announced a herd of My Little Pony books coming in 2013. 

Editorial director Erin Stein cut the deal with Hasbro for the books, leading with an official guide to the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic television show. That book will be out in spring 2013. 

Here’s more about the $14.99 guidebook, entitled My Little Pony: The Elements of Harmony: ”includes extensive character bios, a complete episode guide and a map of Equestria, which will appear in print for the first time. Don’t miss the complete lyrics to all the songs, a guide to the friendship lessons Twilight Sparkle and her friends have learned, and get Pony Words of Wisdom - so you can live your life in harmony with all other creatures.”

We’ve teamed up with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers on a line of ponyrific books, including an official guide to “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic!” Books for fans of all ages will hit store shelves spring 2013.

We will update with new information as it becomes available. The official guide sounds really neat!

Hot Topic has released two new MLP bags/backpacks.

First up is a Rainbow Dash plush backpack. She is very different in style than the WeLoveFine backpack and also much cheaper! This Rainbow will run you $22.50 on their website.

Next is a double-sided shopping tote featuring Rainbow Dash and Ditzy Doo/Derpy Hooves/Bubbles/whatever the heck her name is these days. It goes for $6.50 on their website.

My Little Pony "Horsin' Around" fleece fabric is available online at Hancock Fabrics for $14.99 per yard (currently on sale for $7.99 per yard). This fabric has also been found at Jo-Ann and Walmart, but prices in store may vary.

I haven't done one of my Pony Fashion Friday posts in ages (I'm going to try to start them up again soon!), but WeLoveFine has certainly been keeping up with their pony merch. Recently they released this adorable Rainbow Dash "Hug Me" backpack. It is available online for $50.00. Fits adults 13+.

My Little Pony coloring books are pretty abundant now. There are so many that it seems silly to keep updates on them, but this one features new artwork and appears to be character-focused so I thought I would give it a highlight. According to Equestria Daily, it was found at a Rite-Aid in Tennessee, but should be available elsewhere.

Hot Topic posted a Hot Minute segment on their Youtube channel spotlighting a familiar pony face! Fluttershy answers a series of quick questions in this minute-long interview. Very cute!

Twilight Sparkle “Smile Set” (toothbrush, rinse cup and holder) and Pinkie Pie foaming hand soap bottle, both found at an Asheville, NC walmart. Both are $5, and out with the Christmas gift sets. The nearby KMart has the Smile Set, too, but not the soap bottle.
