Someone has put up a (I'm guessing unofficial) facebook page for the new tv series, "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". And, as yaizel at the MLP Arena reports, there are some new pictures there.
So the first 4 images I have are comparisons of ponies and pony art.
Now, it seems pretty clear that Applejack and Pinkie Pie are gonna be in the series. Glory and Posey though are a bit of a mystery. If you dig through the arena thread ImmortalPanda says the Posey image was up on Lauren Faust's deviantart page, but got pulled off when the TV show went into production. Also, Lauren Faust did mention on her page that "Except for Applejack and Spike, Hasbro lost all the copyright and trademark rights to all the names from characters in the 80's, so I couldn't bring back anyone but those two."
But then we have another image on the facebook page:
There's Posey again. This image was apparently originally from Brittany Harriman's portfolio at AIGA. It says these images are for a "Licensing Style Guide for the new 2010 My Little Pony brand", and that "most illustrations, except badges were provided by Hasbro".
Now, not sure when those style guide sets were put together, so it doesn't mean for sure that Posey's in the series, or that Pinkie Pie is a pegasus for that matter. (And who's that white pony?) But it's a possibility, maybe.

If its supposed to be a licensing style guide, why does one character have obvious discrepancies (pinkie pie has wings and then doesn't)? ;P
It's weird, isn't it. I think in the Arena thread someone joked about her somehow transforming into a pegasus. I'm more inclined to think that maybe this is a first draft of a style guide put together with some early concept art, and that later revisions would pull the wings from Pinkie. But I dunno. I can't wait 'til October & the shows release when all the mysteries will clear up.
