When news of Season 2 first came out, Top Draw Animation listed 24 episodes for the season. However, Equestria Daily reports that Daniel Ingram (composer for FiM) posted a resume listing 26 episodes in Season 2. As it is possible that Top Draw was not involved in all episodes for Season 2, and as Season 1 had 26 episodes, it seems likely that Season 2 will also have 26 episodes.

"So how can Top Draw say they are doing 24 episodes this year for Season 2 of FiM, and my credit list say 26, and BOTH be accurate? Because 2 episodes for season 2 were animated in 2010 as part of the Season 1 package.
